Rewilding the Psyche
A day long workshop exploring wholeness and animate perception

Our culture might domesticate our minds, limiting what we perceive, feel, think and imagine, but our minds are actually wild! They possess astonishing resources, untapped potentials and depths that we might not even know exist until we discover how to access them, cultivate their powers, and eventually integrate them into our everyday lives in service to ourselves, our culture, and the more-than-human-world.
We will draw on the eco-psychological approach to the Self and Bill Plotkin’s ground-breaking mature eco-psychology as described in Wild Mind: A Field Guide to the Human Psyche, and explore these depths and potentials — which we call the four facets of the Self, or the four dimensions of our innate human wholeness.

Our exploration will include:
- how to recognise and consciously cultivate the four facets of the Self
- how each facet of the Self provides essential resources for the underworld journey (the descent to soul), a radical transformation of personal identity, and the potential to be living as a visionary artisan of cultural evolution.
- Through a variety of eco-psychology and animate practices we will explore the landscape of the psyche while immersed in the wilds.
We will explore through:
Wanders on the landscape: Opening the sense doors and the imaginal realm we will wander on the land with our longing, our questions, with the ears of the heart, tracking and opening to the conversation with the Wild Other.
Sacred Council: Witnessing and speaking from the edge of our heart’s knowing.
Deep Imagery: Drum journey to access the deep imagination.

Sacred making and ceremony: making through our hands objects of beauty and ritual.

Where: Jumping Creek Reserve, Warrandyte. NB: The location is 20 minutes walk from the carpark and involves walking on uneven terrain. Reasonable level of fitness required. And punctuality as you need to be guided in and we will leave the carpark at 9.45am.
Facilitator
Claire Skye (Dunn) is a writer, speaker, mother, barefoot explorer, rewilding facilitator and founder of Nature’s Apprentice. Claire is passionate about human rewilding and believes that a reclaiming of our ecological selves and belonging is key to regenerating wildness on the planet.
For the last 15 years, Claire has been facilitating individuals to dive deeply into the mysteries of nature and psyche through the pathways of deep nature connection, ancestral earth skills, deep ecology, ecopsychology, soulcentric nature-based practice, village building, dance, ceremony and contemporary wilderness rites-of-passage.
Claire is the author of memoirs My Year Without Matches, which tells the story of her year living wild, and Rewilding the Urban Soul which explores how we might embody wild consciousness within a modern city context. Claire lives beside the Birrarung on the outskirts of Melbourne where she lovingly tends her family, her garden and her own wild heart.

Refunds are available until 14 days before event starts, minus $25 admin fee.
Fewer than 14 days before event, refunds are not available, unless your place can be filled from the waiting list, which will incur a $50 late cancellation fee.
If you can no longer make it you may onsell or gift your ticket at no extra cost. Please let us know the name and email address of the person who will be taking your place.
