Hearth Fire Fridays
Fridays 9:30 am–2:30 pm
17th October – 21st November 2025
Kalorama | Warrandyte | Wild Location
Limited to 15 participants
“All of us have ancestral memory of what it is like to live connected, interdependent lives.”
- Mia birdsong
There are moments in life when something ancient stirs—
A glimpse of our soul’s longing,
A whisper from the more-than-human world,
A taste of the life we were born for.
Slower. More connected.
Full of intention, depth, ritual and meaning.
But what happens after that glimpse?
Hearth Fire Fridays is an invitation to live into that remembering.
To not only re-member but to live what should have been our ancestral inheritance,
Passed down from generation to generation.
“Our entire psychic, physical, emotional, and spiritual makeup was shaped in the long evolutionary sweep of our species. Our inheritance includes an intimate and permeable exchange with the wild world. It is what our minds and bodies expect.”
— Francis Weller
Together, we gather to rekindle this ancestral memory of connection.
To remember with our hands, hearts and souls.
To tend and build skills of connection and community.
Story, song, crafting, and deep listening.
To belong ourselves to land, kin, and the more than human world.
To sit at the hearth of our own wildness—tending the threads that weave soul into everyday life.
"The goal is not transcendence of the material world, but a more fully embodied and engaged spirituality that grounds mystical experiences in everyday life."
— Bill Plotkin
Over six consecutive Fridays, we will gather to enter into a seasonal practice of deep listening and creative tending.
Each week's gathering will be shaped by ritual, song, mythic story, seasonal (spring) herbal medicine making, and tending to the wild thread of soul. Together, we form a living map of reconnection, working with hands, voice, heart, and soul.
We will sit in circle, share potluck meals, connect to our spring herbal allies, journal under the open sky, gather by the fire, and marinate in the medicine of being together in this way.
This journey is not in any way a peak experience that fades quickly.
It is the slow, simple yet profound work of living with soul daily.
Each day, a prayer for the re-membering of our ancestral inheritance,
our wild knowing, and our place in the great weaving of life.

For the last 15 years, Claire has been facilitating individuals to dive deeply into the mysteries of nature and psyche through the pathways of deep nature connection, ancestral earth skills, deep ecology, ecopsychology, soulcentric nature-based practice, village building, dance, ceremony and contemporary wilderness rites-of-passage.
Claire is the author of memoirs My Year Without Matches, which tells the story of her year living wild, and Rewilding the Urban Soul which explores how we might embody wild consciousness within a modern city context. She is fiercely passionate about centring mothers and families—not only in her work, but in her own life. For over 13 years, Siobhán has been raising her children alongside her beloved husband, rooted in shared values and reverence for the sacredness of family life. Together, they live amongst the towering mountain ash and magical ferns on Mount Dandenong, tending a loving home, a converted chapel, thriving gardens, and a spectacular geodesic dome that serves as a sacred gathering space.

~ reclaiming interconnected animist / pan-psychist perception and Gaian deep-time awareness
~ ritually re-entering the conversation with other-than-human, ancestral and place-based relationships
~ bioregional grassroots folk herbalism and food foraging
~ Reclaiming mythopoetic imagination, mythtelling, song weaving and soulful dreaming capacities
~ Insects! And wild native orchids! And mushroom season!
~ Books! She is a hopeless bookworm
She is in service to the nonlinear, emergent movement toward cultural renewal and ecological healing and, ultimately, collective liberation from the painful delusion of a Self that sees itself as separate and superior to the rest of life on Earth.
