Date change + new details up for December 10 - Community Soul Councils 2022

In person gatherings

Every 6 weeks Saturdays 10 am-1 pm

Next meeting: December 10, Merri Creek Wetland, Northcote. See below for directions to the meeting point.

Note we have had to reschedule from 3rd to 10th Dec. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope you can join us for our final council of 2022!

We take a wild wander

To feed and stoke the soul

We gather back in circle

Where, ay, the Truth be told

Where all of you is welcome

The messy and the glad

And all that’s been revealed

From time upon the land

A crash of light

A whipping tail

The feathers, fur and bones

Who stalks your dreams?

What’s still unseen?

What beckons from below…?

Nature’s Apprentice is pleased to be able to offer a series of community ‘Soul Councils’, as a gift to our beloved wild community, and in service to the rebuilding of our networks of connection following the last two years of fragmentation.

We will gather in a wildish place, in or near Melbourne. We will be invited to take a wild wander, around a particular theme or question. Quieting the mind and coming into a space of deep listening, reverence and curiosity, we will see what secrets nature might wish to reveal to us. What subtle, rarely witnessed, moments might delight us? What might be revealed about the world, and our place in it? What might we learn of our own depths and longings? We will come back and share our story in sacred Council, speaking from the heart, listening from the heart, and getting to the heart of the matter.

Emerging from a hibernatory couple of years, it’s time to shake the cobwebs from our pelts, and start to see and be seen by others, both human and otherwise. It’s time to gather again in a circle, in nature, and re-weave our webs of connection.

No bookings necessary, just turn up.

Cost: Free, but donations to cover costs of organising are appreciated (by cash or bank transfer on the day).

Location will vary among wildish places within 1.5 hours of Melbourne.

Time: About 3 hours, plus optional lunch.

We recommend not bringing children (unless babes in arms), so you can fully participate in the activities.

Facilitation will rotate among Nature’s Apprentice’s trusted associates.

Next meeting:

Date: Saturday December 10, 10am-1pm.

Location: Merri Creek Wetland

From Trent and Sarah: “To find our sacred space for the Soul Council, please head to Merri Creek Wetland on Google maps. The wetland is easy to find and access by walking down from Ceres, across the bridge or from St Georges road tram stop. There are multiple entrances to the wetland through three different gates. We recommend entering through the east and west gates and following the path to our special little sit spot.

Theme: An invitation to reflect on the past year, with the intention to reconnect with our true nature and build community.

We will have water and natural insect repellent and a few candles too. We invite people to bring something small and light to eat after the council.”

Please aim to arrive early (9:50am) to find the meeting spot, and no later than 10:15. It can be hard to accommodate latecomers into the space.

Facilitators: Trent Clews-de Castella and Sarah Cowell

Contact on the day: Trent on 0423 396 263 or Sarah on 0421 788 601
